Cultural Impact Academy - Why Now?

This past week, we issued a Press Release announcing our Cultural Impact Academy.  Since our formation in 2019, Montgomery Hassell purposefully flew under the radar, providing retained search services and general HR consulting to select clients.

Since the press release, I’ve had several colleagues, former colleagues and some industry icons ask…..

“Why are you doing this”?  “Aren’t you supposed to be retiring”?

The answer to this question is simple.  I don’t think I will ever retire because I love what I do.

My passion has always been helping people and organizations succeed and I can do this more effectively by teaching, training and coaching leaders.

After we published our first academy session, Recruit Like a Headhunter, I received a call from a close long-time former colleague asking me if I had lost my mind.

“Why would an executive recruiter share their trade learning and career knowledge”?

This answer is also simple.  I want to help companies succeed and hiring the right people is the first step of a culture of engagement.

I’ve always believed, if you don’t hire well, be prepared to hire often. In this scenario, it is usually the long term, engaged, committed employees who suffer, for a lot of reasons.

I’ve had conversations with business owners (large and small) who’ve struggled to find and hire employees.  This one issue alone has prevented their growth and success. Their struggle is real but also unnecessary.

Recruiting is the combination of a science, a practice and an art rolled into one function. (more to come on this with another post).

Posting open positions on a job board is not recruiting. This will make your job seen by 5% to 25% of the candidate universe.  There is no guarantee the right person will click your ad to apply.  We call this “post” and “hope” and it is not recruiting.

As a recruiter, it is not hard to find candidates with a polished resume of skills and experience. Just understand, a great resume does not always translate to a successful hire.

One last tidbit, companies usually hire candidates because of their experience. Unfortunately, the same companies have to terminate employees for poor work behaviors, not job performance.

If you attend our session, you will greatly reduce the odds of this happening to you.
